The Portal
The principle of the HealthGrid portal is to provide a useful tool necessary to community members who want to share information on a same basis. It overall allows the HealthGrid Community to live and to reach the objectives which are:
- to share developments;
- to improve the quality of the services;
- to share knowledge.
At the beginning, the SHARE project had the will to gather a community involved in healthgrids. For a better communication service, it seemed necessary to create a portal in order to give the right information at the right place and at the right time. It was all about efficiency as well as a gain of time and money.
Why has it been created?
At the beginning, the Community required several needs, such as:
- news system
- information share on different events
- a private space to talk about specific topics
This is the reason why, the portal was created. It could suggest a choice of several tools. Moreover, it gives now to the members the opportunity to discover more about the initiatives' vision and objectives.
The main interests are:
- legal, ethical,
- medicine,
- technical,
- researchers,
- scientific,
- industrials
Whom is it made for?
It has been created for the members of the Community who come from all around the world. The HealthGrid Community wants to be an active part to build a Grid dedicated to health in Europe, USA and Asia in future times.
What is made of?
The portal introduces the access to different services and other websites. It allows to the visitors to be aware about current job opportunities or news for example.
In this initiative's case, the portal is made of several components like tools or websites. Indeed, the portal offers the access to:
- The WIKI
- The Code Factory (Trac/SVN)
- The Knowledge Base
- FEEDS related to RSS links
- The HealthGrid Community website
The HealthGrid community website is open to anyone providing major information such as news or events.
